A Non-Profit for Women Athletes
Founded by Maggie Messina, Female Fighters Matter Too (FFM2) is a movement dedicated to leveling the playing field for female athletes. After experiencing firsthand the inequities in martial arts competition, Messina made it her mission to create opportunities for women in sport karate and beyond. Through FFM2, she has organized free training camps, seminars led by female champions, and advocacy efforts to ensure women receive the recognition they deserve. Beyond martial arts, Messina inspires women nationwide to break barriers and pursue their ambitions with confidence and resilience.

An Author & Storyteller
Maggie Messina is a two-time author who shares the raw, unfiltered truth of her life—growing up in poverty, the foster care system, and overcoming unimaginable hardships. Through her books, she transforms personal struggles into powerful lessons on resilience, self-discovery, and defying the odds.
Making Maggie: Little Miss Tri-County
Maggie’s memoir is a deeply personal account of her harrowing childhood, growing up with a drug-addicted mother, battling abuse, addiction, and eating disorders, and ultimately breaking free from the cycle of suffering. Making Maggie is the story of survival, grit, and transformation—a testament to what it takes to rewrite your own story.
Tattered Laces
A compelling exploration of life’s hidden lessons, Tattered Laces challenges the idea that pain is punishment—instead, it is a catalyst for growth. In this deeply reflective work, Maggie exposes the societal systems that keep us small and inspires readers to embrace challenges, break free from destructive cycles, and step into their true potential.
